Make Your Child A Genius
Parents are always concerned about their children’s growth and development. They take every important step to ensure that their kids get the most out of life. And as such, they try to provide everything that is necessary to equip their children. Parents are undoubtedly particularly excited during the first few stages of their children’s growth. They provide everything that these children need, no matter what the costs are.
Every parent dreams of having a baby Einstein. Genius kids receive extraordinary attention from people who recognize them. However, a major misconception is that geniuses are born. But this is not entirely true. In fact, geniuses can be developed. Given proper attention and training, parents can help their kids become child prodigies of the future. But this cannot be done by the child alone. Parents need to do much of the work by pushing their kids to learn and by focusing on teaching them. They can influence their children to develop an interest into something and orient them to subscribe to such interest. Parents can hire teachers to do the work for them, but they can never be as affective as the parents are. Children often find it more comfortable to stay and play with their parents than anyone else, even of a professional status.
Humans are more adaptable during their younger stages, which make it important for children to be trained on their first few years. Infants and toddler, for example, although they lack the intellectual backbone to retain information, they are more receptive to new ideas. They learn first from infant toys then develop a clear understanding of the world around them as they mature. Here are some tips on how parents can act as catalysts to genius babies.
1) Speak to your child often. It may sound stupid for some to talk to someone who cannot understand you. But talking to your child as often will develop your child’s listening skills. He or she may not be able to distinguish a word, but he or she can undoubtedly hear a sound. Being able to hear different sounds will enable a child to familiarize with the possible sounds that he or she will eventually learn how to utter. Later on, they will also learn how certain words are associated to certain objects and even to feelings. In addition, children will develop an emotional bond with their parents as they learn to distinguish their voice apart from other sounds.
2) Allow them to play. Playing is a way for children to explore what they are able to do. It is always advisable for parents to provide them with any object that will help stimulate their senses, such as a plush toy. With such, they are able to realize that they can interact with the world around them, such as holding and moving a certain toy. Toys are an effective way to stimulate their brains as they do allow an almost perfectly lopsided interaction, or a controlled one, that will suit a child just fine. Toys are great as long as they are suitable for children’s use. So parents should be watchful in giving these objects to children. They should read instructions carefully in terms of safety and age suitability, as such also relates to safe use, which is a primary concern for parents.
3) Expose them to visually-stimulating activities. One of the first senses that become fully developed is the sense of the sight. Before a child is able to distinguish a noise from a sound, he or she is able to recognize something apart from nothing. The eyes are a perfect organ for stimulating the mental ability of a child. Parents can display colorful objects around a baby’s space, such as a moving mobile. Parents can also use educational videos like the Baby Einstein DVD that presents images aimed at visual stimulation. Babies have limited recognition when it comes to colors, that is the why proper selection of images is very essential in such undertaking. However, their color recognition develops and becomes more pronounced as they grow older and gain exposure to the basic ones.
However, the most important factor in promoting a child’s mental and intellectual development is a parent’s participation and drive to enable their children reach the peak of their growth. Parents should be smart to identify the activities that will yield positive results for their children. They should also be patient in waiting for their child to respond to a given stimulus. Parents should give their full attention in helping their children develop themselves in the best possible way, even in simple acts such as choosing the right stuffed animals to provide them for play.
