These Are The Foods You Must Have At University

 Powered by Max Banner Ads

Living at University at first can be a bit challenging and something that not many people will do is cook decent meals for themselves.. Ready mealswill not do you any good at all and there are so many things out there that you can buy for a cheaper price that will work to do you some good..

Carb Time

You have to make sure that you are getting enough of the starch and there are so many options you can take when it comes to starchy foods.

Porridge is very good for you and considering you are able to get a lot of porridge for a very affordable price nowadays it can be well worth having this for breakfast everyday. Believe it or not you can add a number of things into the porridge from chocolate to fruit.

One of the other options to look into is the potato, there are so many things you can do with this.. The baked potato has to be the most affordable one to get and you can fill it with anything from butter to beans and cheese, a personal favourite is prawn mayo. You can also do so many things with them such as boil, roast, Sautee or fry them which means you can add a bit of variety to the mix.

5 A Day

if you are anything like I was at University you will not be too bothered about getting those five a day in there but there are some out there that are cheap to buy. Apples are a great fruit that tend to be very affordable and the most affordable vegetable has to be the carrot..

Meat Eaters

This is also very important baked beans on toast is actually a great way to get both a bit of protein and carbohydrates. Try and cook a roast once a week for you and your roomates.

So although you cannot afford private catering and it is way too early to think about things like wedding caterers you can get yourself some decent tasting food.

AAIC 2010 - Family Matters: A Foundation for Success

Annual Australian Islamic Conference (AAIC) 2010 Family Matters: A Foundation for Success April 2nd-4th 2010 Economics & Commerce Building University of Melbourne Parkville Campus The family is the cornerstone of this Ummah. By nurturing our families to be visionary, pious, confident, self-sufficient and selfless we are all able to contribute to uplifting the status of this Ummah. Put simply, the Family Matters! because it is the institution through which success in this life and the next is built. Last years Annual Australian Islamic Conference (AAIC) Walking in the Shadow of Giants, examined the lives and achievements of our pious predecessors, and although they lived in a different time and context, their shining example is an inspiration to us now. However, their success and achievements should not be viewed in isolation. Clearly their familial environment was a major contributing factor that allowed them to achieve greatness. This years conference is about exploring the missing ingredients in our own approach to family life that was present at the time of the Giants. In tackling the theme of Family, this year’s AAIC will address three sub-themes: Marriage! What does it mean? How do you select a spouse? What are the rights and responsibilities of each spouse? What are the keys to a successful marriage in Islam? Children! How do we raise them? What vision should we have for them? How can we teach them to be proud of their Muslim identity and be ambassadors of Islam? How can we as parents become the best of role models? Knowledge! What is its link and importance to the family? Why seek it? What should we be seeking? How do we incorporate it into our day-to-day lives? By the end of the conference it is our intention that every individual will come away inspired, spiritually re-energized, and armed with essential knowledge and practical tools to make positive changes within their families and lives. To make more space in your cupboard you could try adding a shoe organizer which could also be used to store small things such as toiletries. Bring hangers from home as dorm rooms will not provide with you very little or any at all!

Tucking things under the bed, which used to be your favorite thing to do at home for which mom would constantly scream at you has all of a sudden become a hard reality in life. So yes! if you have things that you do not need regularly, simply store them under the bed.

Keep your stationery handy. Storing is a problem for many students living in dorm rooms. So make the maximum use of drawers, hook racks behind doors etc.. If you are not allowed to hang things on the wall you could always use hooks that can be easily removed when necessary without leaving marks!
